Monterrey as Movement Architecture
The city's rooftops, walls, bridges, overpasses, billboards, and concrete supports are not merely scenery. Dani uses them as sequential launch surfaces, turning Monterrey's vertical and industrial structure into the foundation of a pouncing traversal style that relies less on continuous web-swinging than most Spider variants.
NorteGen Biomedical
NorteGen is a legitimate biotechnology company whose NG-S9 Emergency Tissue Scaffold was designed to control bleeding and temporarily reinforce catastrophic injuries with recombinant arachnid silk proteins. The treatment genuinely saved Dani. A contaminated delivery vector also transformed her, leaving the company defined by negligence and self-protection rather than a simple villainous purpose.
The Public Story
Spider-Woman has operated publicly for roughly six months, but her civilian identity remains secret. Online observers notice her resemblance to streamer DaniGarza and have settled on a more entertaining explanation: Spider-Woman must be a fan who watches Dani's streams and repeats her mannerisms.
The Mutation Thread
Dani is not the only life altered by NorteGen precursor material. Héctor Saldaña, known as Muda, survived a far larger industrial exposure and now develops destructive layers of adaptive tissue that must eventually be shed. His deterioration makes him both a recurring threat and a warning about what the same research could have made of Dani.
The Wider Web
The Spider Society enters only after a later multiversal anomaly reaches Monterrey. Until then, Earth-8124's Spider-Woman grows through local choices, local consequences, and self-taught experience. Even after discovery, Dani's first responsibility remains her home rather than permanent multiversal service.
