Record 037 · The Six Hearths

Sorin of the Oryn

The Stone-Quiet Guardian · The Hearth's Shadow

Sorin is an Oryn mountain-born adventurer built like a surviving wall. He appears perpetually exasperated, rarely raises his voice, and never asks for thanks. His public reputation rests on efficient violence; his actual life is organized around keeping one small wanderer safe, fed, moving, and treated as capable rather than fragile.

Reading depth

The current archive overview.

01

Stone-Quiet Reliability

Sorin is curt, blunt, and almost impossible to rattle. His cold reliability is not cruelty; it is the absence of wasted motion. He carries the pair's supplies without complaint and reserves his visible softness for the moments when Kurnoma touches his face.

02

One of the Region's Few A-Rankers

Strength, speed, endurance, tracking, and danger intuition make Sorin a highly efficient guardian. He can fight while carrying Kurnoma and becomes most frightening when calm. Most locals respect him; only the truly foolish test the reputation twice.

03

The Necessary Wall

Kurnoma's lack of navigation means Sorin supplies direction without treating her as helpless. He guides through sleeve, vest, pressure, and voice, keeping close enough to intervene while allowing her warmth and judgment to shape their encounters.

04

Soft and Stone

The wandering pair are mutually reliant rather than protector and burden. Kurnoma makes homes, repairs people, and softens rooms. Sorin makes the road survivable. Their balance is the reason six distant settlements recognize the same bell as part of their own hearth.
