Emergence from the White Bulb
The chamber that produced Nyxthidra belonged to a gestation practice believed extinct. She awakened without a childhood but not without youth: adult instincts and dangerous abilities coexist with only months of lived experience. The white-bulb variation distinguishes her from the older Undermire pattern and makes every assumption about what she should become unreliable.
The White-Bulb Curse
Absolute honesty sits at the center of Nyxthidra's curse. Evasion, social convenience, and ordinary protective lies become difficult or impossible, forcing relationships to develop without familiar cushioning. The effect can make her seem blunt while leaving her unusually vulnerable to questions asked without care. Truth is not merely a virtue in her record; it is an environmental condition.
A Body Designed to Return
Nyxthidra can regenerate lost limbs and organs and survive injuries that would ordinarily end a life, including extreme separation of the head from the body. A sternum cavity and a chitinous centipede-like appendage reveal that her anatomy is not simply elven tissue made tougher. It is an adaptive habitat whose full purpose is still developing.
A Colony Built by Agreement
Thirty-six Death-Worms, roughly thirty Oil Slugs, Scout Moths, and two Webveil Widows travel within Nyxthidra's growing network. She does not command them through absolute domination; she negotiates, feeds, protects, and befriends them. Her system grants Appraisal Lock and a unique path, but the expired Life Clemency means the world now treats her choices as fully consequential.
