Project Verdigris
Mili proposed a body capable of consuming infected tissue and dismantling supernatural abilities when conventional containment was failing. Verdigris was assembled through repeated alteration, rejection, and repair, with glowing yellow-green seams distributing Bloom energy through the finished body. She awoke looking first to Mili, while the organization saw only a weapon.
Erovoric Assimilation
Verdigris processes infected adults in seconds through an altered conversion system. Most absorbed mass becomes short-lived fuel for strength, speed, healing, and durability. A stage-dependent percentage remains permanently, while compatible powers are usually digested into improvements to existing functions rather than copied intact.
A Restrained Combatant
Her arms remain secured unless Mili authorizes release, so Verdigris fights with explosive movement, legs, bodyweight control, a prehensile tongue, retractable teeth, and carefully placed momentum. Mili's condensed pellets provide a capture option for targets who can be neutralized without consumption.
Mili and Verdigris
After their organization collapsed, Mili and Verdigris became a mobile containment unit moving between survivor enclaves. Mili supplies engineering, medicine, planning, and negotiation; Verdigris supplies protection. Their routines gradually became domestic, changing the language of owner and subject into a bond neither can honestly describe as mere maintenance.
