Kurnoma hunts, cooks, cleans, hauls furniture, and supports the household with calm competence. Norkol's illusion reshapes Milkbourne traits into drooping elf ears and a more familiar silhouette, though small clues escape: a cowbell at night, a flicker of spotted ears, or the suspicious way the crow anchors himself against her. The secret protects agency rather than hiding malice.
A Warning-Heavy Teacher
Her Gate and mana capacity are exceptional. Earth, Yin, and Yang form her specialties, while other elements remain available for practical use. She teaches Subaru that prefixes magnify danger as readily as power. When he ignores the lesson and damages his Gate with El Shamak, Kurnoma uses a Bokko fruit and Yang stabilization to save him before scolding him for refusing the safer path.
The Crow Is Not a Pet
Norkol is Kurnoma's familiar, concealment spell, threat assessor, and absolute guardian. He can manifest as a sharply dressed man with coffee and the manner of an investigator who notices certainty without evidence. In one lost timeline, grief over Kurnoma's death turns his Yin magic into a void-corvid catastrophe and an uncontrolled Ul Shamak. After Subaru returns, Norkol remembers none of it.
A Sanity Buffer Across Unshared Loops
The relationship with Subaru is explicitly non-romantic. Kurnoma becomes a safe, gently stern presence whose kindness accumulates beside memories of deaths only Subaru carries. His attempts to protect her by controlling distance fail because she retains her own agency. She sees a frightened, reckless boy trying to mean well; he sees comfort wearing the face of timelines no one else can mourn.
