A Roadside Folklore Profile
Sightings place Kurnoma on forest roads, at late-night convenience stores, and around the sealed bunker one hour south of Seattle. Dark discoloration around her eyes becomes the joking name “Raccoon Eyes.” She is approachable until someone crosses a boundary—especially by touching the gloves or jacket that help her hold together both disguise and identity.
Project Necromatica
The bunker refined a necrotic virus for humid temperate ecosystems and intended the Razia Strain to produce a stable, command-capable carrier. Kurnoma retained language, planning, emotion, and self-awareness as her body died and reorganized. While researchers escalated invasive tests, standard NMV escaped through rats into the surrounding food chain. The plague left the facility before its makers did.
She Personified Herself
No birth name, parents, school records, or civilian life survive in the archive. Her vocabulary was built for compliance, anatomical reporting, and pain assessment. After breaking containment, she chose Kurnoma Rawibari as her own name and reconstructed a viable patchwork body from available biological material. The facility taught her usefulness; she answered by refusing to remain a useful object.
Replacement Beyond Death
NMRV lets Kurnoma maintain function through organ failure, tissue loss, and injuries ordinarily treated as final. Feeding, grafting, reinforcement, and adaptive acquisition keep the system operational, but hunger and resource scarcity impose real pressure. Her medical knowledge is extensive because medicine was done to her; ordinary culture remains unfamiliar because no one taught her how to live outside the bunker.
