Appearance & Silhouette
Darius stands 6 feet 8 inches, matching Kurnoma’s height but carrying it in a radically different silhouette. He has a broad muscular strong-fat build: the mass of a tank rather than the display anatomy of a sculpted duelist. His shoulders and back are built to receive recoil from weapons that may change weight, balance, and length without warning. A thick middle does not soften the impression of strength; it tells an experienced fighter that his body stores leverage and can survive its own Momentum Arts. His skin is dark chocolate. Jet-black hair is worn in long braided dreadlocks, providing a clean dark frame around bright green eyes. Those eyes are the most humanly readable part of him during escalation. In ordinary conversation they carry a direct, alert steadiness. During Rage they remain fixed on Kurnoma as an anchor even while other recognition deteriorates. The visual is central to the old partnership: a body becoming more animal and violent while the eyes continue to remember one person.
Temperament & Interior Life
The Darius remembered by the early ledger is physical but not stupid, intimidating but not theatrically cruel. He thinks through commitment, pressure, and consequence. His magic is weaker when treated as distant spellcasting, so he refuses to pretend to be the kind of mage he is not. He puts Earth into the landing, Wind into the acceleration, Shadow into the angle, and Psyonic pressure into the moment the weapon connects. The philosophy extends beyond combat: if an idea cannot survive contact with reality, he would rather strike it once than discuss it forever. With Kurnoma he was affectionate, attracted, playful, and comfortable being the more visible half of the pair. She teased, flirted, cooked, locked in emotionally when the moment required seriousness, and allowed him to feel powerful without lying about the work she was doing. Darius’s best dynamic with her is not protector and protected. It is hammer and hand: he creates the undeniable event; she decides where that event can happen safely.
Position in the World
Before disappearance, Darius occupied the public-facing half of the original adventurer pair. His A-Rank duel record established raw credibility; later material places him at S Rank, reflecting the strategic danger of an adaptive weapon specialist whose pull quality can climb through Pity, Rage, Legendary sequences, and rare Mythic intervention. He was a formation breaker: the person sent through the obstruction once Kurnoma had made the obstruction vulnerable. Weapon Gacha made him politically difficult to catalogue. A predictable S-Rank swordsman can be counter-equipped. Darius might begin with an unimbued cleaver, transition through wind axes, call a gravity-reinforced Legendary greatsword, and—on an exceptional pull—place a sentient Moonlight Greatsword on the field. Every response plan had to account not only for what he held but for what he could refuse, recall, or leave available for someone else to seize. His current position is absence with continuing strategic relevance. Old weapons may still recognize him.
Powers, Abilities & Combat Systems
HEREDITARY BLOODLINE ART Function. Weapon Gacha fuses inherited weapon summoning and dimensional equipment storage into an eight-slot adaptive arsenal. A pull materializes in Darius’s hands inside a blue crystalline shell that shatters on impact or the first swing. Common, Rare, Legendary, and Mythic results obey different craft and imbuement rules. Field application. In practice, Darius uses this capability as a live tactical lottery whose value comes from improvisation rather than certainty. Airborne summons and chained calls allow him to change reach and threat angle mid-sequence. Once a weapon has been swung it remains in the world, making the battlefield itself accumulate options—and theft risks. System interaction. Rejecting a pull adds Pity and imposes a seven-second cooldown; five Pity guarantees Rare or better. Rage is the strongest quality modifier. Kurnoma’s hidden probability pressure historically improved the survival and timing around favorable pulls without eliminating the Art’s genuine randomness.
Combat Doctrine
Darius begins by accepting uncertainty. The first pull is information: not only what weapon arrived, but how the enemy responds to the arrival. A rush to exploit a Common result may be better than rejecting into seven seconds of exposure. Against a prepared superior, he may deliberately reject, build Pity, and use movement or Kurnoma’s control to survive until quality rises. His second doctrine is continuity. Every swing should preserve something—rotation, foot placement, fear, terrain fracture, or the opponent’s defensive commitment—that the next weapon can inherit. This is why Momentum and Flow matter more than conventional mastery of one blade. The arsenal is random; the body is the constant that makes randomness look like style. His third doctrine is will-breaking. Shadow makes the angle uncertain. Psyonic pressure makes uncertainty emotionally expensive. Earth makes the landing undeniable. Wind compresses the interval. Impact makes the chosen contact feel like proof that resistance was a mistake.
Key History
Age Twenty-Four — Darius entered the recorded story as a 6'8" Panda Beast-Folk physical specialist with Weapon Gacha, broad strong-fat mass, braided black hair, green eyes, and a Rage state Kurnoma could anchor. The A-Rank Duel — A documented duel established his A-Rank credibility through Common Heavy Cleaver Blade, Rare Twin Wind-Edged Axes, and Legendary Stoneheart Colossus Greatsword pulls. Kurnoma’s hidden control evacuated and protected the crowd while an SS-Rank observer realized Darius was fighting under Lady Luck’s protection. S-Rank Vanguard — Later classification places Darius at S Rank, reflecting the strategic danger of Gacha escalation, weapon-channelled magic, Rage, and Mythic possibility. Husband & Expectant Father — He and Kurnoma were a happy romantic couple. During wanted pregnancy he hovered protectively while Kurnoma carried the children, cooked, and walked the markets. Departure — Darius left after Lucius, Kumoko, and Elara were born. Kurnoma held the household together alone. The triplets never met him.
