Record 039 · Fallout

Kurnoma Rawibari

The Apex of the Commonwealth · Vault 0's last resident

Kurnoma survived Vault 0's collapse, radiation, raiders, and an adaptive chameleon infestation by becoming something the Commonwealth reads as a Deathclaw first and a person only after investigation. Her encounter is deliberately reactive: violence produces a threat, patience uncovers a history, and trust can reveal a companion.

Reading depth

The current archive overview.

01

Vault 0

An unstable early shelter opened during dangerous ambient radiation, then suffered raider intrusion, resource collapse, and the spread of Jackson's Chameleons. Terminal records eventually narrow the resident list to one plain entry: Kurnoma Rawibari, sole surviving resident.

02

An Outcome, Not an Experiment

Radiation, starvation, injury, and chameleon biology drove a sixteen-year transformation without FEV or an intentional program. Kurnoma retained memory, emotional reasoning, and selective restraint while developing Alpha-scale armor, horns, claws, senses, and mass.

03

A Reactive Encounter

Aiming, attacking, or fleeing can trigger predatory pursuit; stillness, a holstered weapon, and food can interrupt it. Repeated failed attempts to kill her open the quest Echoes in the Dark, reframing the encounter around investigation rather than a larger gun.

04

What the Player Does With the Truth

Vault evidence does not erase the people Kurnoma killed. It shows pattern, threat response, and survival rather than indiscriminate cruelty. Her companion route asks whether the Commonwealth can recognize something human after the body no longer makes recognition easy.
